SOUTH KENSINGTON

PALE SHELTER

The client’s request was for an elegant and calm retreat but within historical dwelling in the heart of London. Two ‘piano nobile’ of a Victorian Grade II terraced house were then combined in order to create a continued extended family residence, where original architectural features features were carefully restored and minimal interiors generated serene and ordered spaces.
Main role has been assigned to the extended portfolio of materials and textures all strictly linked to the earthy tones of the colore palette. Amongst them are liquid metal, Laminan stone, Santafiora Marble, cement plaster wall and mirror mosaics. Fireplace walls, bedroom and storage furniture were all carefully designed to infill the many alcoves present throughout the apartment as belonging to the original Victorian structure in order to guarantee the uninterrupted minimal composition.
