HAMPSTEAD HOUSE

The design matrix of this beautiful London house was as complex as fascinating. Within the austere walls of a Grade II Listed artist home, each room was envisioned as a separate aggregate even if within the same continuous elegant colour scheme. Rough plaster and dark metal lines coexist under the same roof in a rather extraordinary harmony, alternatively covering or remarking the original period features which have been carefully restored and retained. This home was also design around a large collection of sculpture and art pieces, but was also particularly conceived to keep evolving and to be able to withstand addition and subtraction of various pieces as lifestyle develops. Material and texture have played a significant role within the overall scheme, incarnating memories of different countries and cultures belonging to the owners identity.
